What Is The History Of Manchester City Football Club?
Much like every other Premier League Football club, Manchester City has quite a storied past. They have gone through good times and bad times, and these experiences are what makes the club so special today.
Manchester City Football Club started playing in 1880. In 1887, they moved to Ardwick and changed their name. But after some financial issues, they were back in Manchester City.
They started making progress in the early 1900’s. Before this time, they never really experienced any success. But, in 1904, they won their first FA Cup. After that big win, the following seasons took quite a downturn. Financial issues one again plagued the team, and they never recovered for a while.
Fast forward to the 1930’s, when Manchester City once again won a FA Cup in 1934. By beating Portsmouth that year, they started to rebuild their reputation as a strong team.
It wasn’t until 1956 that they won their next FA Cup. After this win, things really started to go downhill, with numerous relegations to take place in the following years.
It has taken all this time, up until the present, for Manchester City to make it back up and regain some of their former glory. Through some hard work and smart roster moves, they are back up to where they should be, the Premier League.
Manchester City has an interesting past. What does their future hold in store for them? Nobody really knows. They are now in the Premier Leaguer, and are slowly making progress towards the upper echelon of the league. Who knows where they will be in a few years – maybe the will be champions?
